Is the life of americans of more value than other life,?

i mean i think that when my dog dies in a few years time i will be very sad, he was a valuable member of my family, when more americans die in the ensuing firestorm how will there lives be valued over that of a dog.I dont think they will .Is that not a sad state of affairs when ones life is worth less than that of a dog.
