Out of the blue visit from an ex on Easter?

I dated this man for over a year. We were involved with eachothers families, vacationing together, etc Yet he refused to call me his girlfriend and give me a committed relationship. So I ended it about 4 months ago. Told him not to call or text and he hasn't. His 15 yr old daughter has come out with me and my daughter a handful of times since she still texts/calls me. Then on Easter Sunday he came to my house with his daughter to drop off an Easter basket for my daughter. I was at work. Mind you he didnt call or stop for her birthday or mine but comes by on Easter? So I texted him and his daughter a Thank you and a brief conversation ensued. So now he may be coming to dinner with his daughter and me this Sat. (she and I made plans last week). I am not sure if I am ready to resume a friendship with him-I am not sure if my feelings will ever be strictly platonic. But I also think the only way to truly know is to give it a try...
