Islam, Dating? confused,,, muslim girls help!!?

so my question is about dating.....so i recently had a talk with my mother. Honestly i don't know why she even said that but she said that she was okay with me going on dates and meeting people as long as i don't do anything stupid like sleeping with boys and stuff like that. But i didn't quite understand what she meant and how far i could get in a relationship i mean honestly i haven't met anyone and i can promise that i would never have sex before marriage. And dont get me wrong....i am muslim and i truly believe in god. And still if i did ever meet a guy and i did like him would it be wrong to be kissing and no im not saying that i like someone cuz im more of a tom boy / Skater girl so ive never thought of dating but im 16 now and i guess there would be a day i really would want to go on dates....but what would you do if you were me and is kissing wrong? i mean cuz im a muslim girl....no i dont wear that scarf on my head and i live in Sweden so most muslims dont really care about their religion which is sad and wrong and i dont want to be like them but the thing is i dont know much about Islam!
